Stories From Nursery Rhyme Land 50
mins.
DVD £10
Favourite nursery rhyme characters are brought to life in an entertaining
and realistic way in this 50 minute video for the pre-school and early school
age group. The five humorous short stories are woven around traditional
nursery rhymes. They are designed to amuse young children and at the
same time reinforce their introduction to language, number and nature.
Filmed in the beautiful English countryside and using live action,
the various characters often find their way into each other's stories.
For example, we discover just what happened to Little
Bo-Peep's mischievous sheep and the part Mother Hubbard played
in recovering them, while Jack and Jill have a surprise encounter with
His Majesty Old King Cole. Miss Muffett's experience with her spider
doesn't quite turn out as one might expect and the people and animals in
and around "The House that Jack Built" have something to say about their
roles. Little Jack Horner cannot resist his mother's home cooking - with
uncomfortable results - but all ends happily in a story that captures the
atmosphere of an old-fashioned Christmas.
